GEMSPOT GOLF, INC. headquartered in Santa Barbara, California, was founded in January, 2007 by Wendy Laub. Her passionate interest in golf and talent in jewelry design naturally led to the creation of GEMSPOT GOLF. Mrs. Laub is a top amateur golfer who has won numerous competitions including being a five-time Women's Club Champion at Antelope Valley Country Club. In May of 2007, for the sixth consecutive year, she won the Women's Club Championship at Montecito Country Club in Santa Barbara, CA. Her career round lowest score at MCC is 69. In November of 2007, Wendy played with her Gemspot putter in the WSCGA Tournament of Champions and tied for 4th place Gross and was also awarded 2nd place Net.

Wendy's impetus to design a putter that would improve her game was MCC's notorious putting greens. Always striving to improve her game, Wendy decided to make her own putter. Wendy took the best ideas from the dozen or so putters collected over the years that were sitting in her garage and decided to make a putter to fit her to size, not just a cut down men's putter. Wendy's connections in the golf industry, combined with input from professional golfers and club makers, helped her to create a perimeter weighted mallet putter with an ideal swing weight, loft and lie. The putter is beautifully designed without the precious gemstones.

Her other hobby is custom jewelry making. Passed down from generation to generation in her family, Wendy has a keen eye for jewelry designs and is a talented jewelry maker, making jewelry for herself and her friends — especially pieces well suited for the active fashion-conscious golfer.

As if working to maintain a low handicap and the hobby of jewelry making didn't keep her busy enough, Wendy Laub has a long professional career in nursing. Initially a neonatal transport helicopter nurse, she is now, and has been for the last eleven years, working as an operating room neurosurgical nurse at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara.

Wendy can often be found playing golf on the weekends with her husband, Dr. David Laub. Dr. Laub is a urologic surgeon who has been involved in the treatment of prostate cancer for over twenty years. Because of the Laub's medical experiences, Gemspot Golf has made financial commitments to two cancer foundations. Ten percent of the proceeds from the sale of the Blue Topaz putter will be given to The Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF) and ten percent of the proceeds from the sale of the Pink Tourmaline putter will go to the Breast Cancer Resource Center.
